Sadly, I have come to realize that my car has become something that I no longer need. I never thought when I first got the car as a junior in college that I would move outside of New York City and be living in a city atmosphere where a car is not a necessity to get around.
I do not use my car all that much and the expense of keeping the "Jetta baby" as I have fondly referred to her as for the last two and half years does not seem to be worth it. So I have begun the process to transfer my lease to someone who needs a car more than I do.
So on Saturday, Liz and I went to the car dealership for an inspection and then went to brunch (Mac Attack came to meet us!) after the Jetta was given a clean bill of health! Then we ran some more errands and came home to a wonderful dinner made by, of course, Mamma Noons.
Then Liz, Mac and I went on the train into Philadelphia for Susan's (aka my first visitor) birthday party! First we stopped to show Liz the famous LOVE statue in center city.
Then we went to Ladder 15 on 15th and Samson in Philadelphia and we had a great time!

Happy Birthday!!! |
It was a great weekend - always great to go back home and be with my family - and it great to show Liz around my hometown!
We LOVE having you come home too! So glad to meet Liz and can't wait for her to come back "home" again soon.
ReplyDeleteYou'll just have to add Jetta Baby to the many great memories of years gone by.
It was great to see you but the visit was too short! I can't wait to see you again next month. Tell Liz it was great to meet her. She's a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much again for having me!!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time and loved meeting everyone. Definitely will be coming back soon :)
I'll also have to let you know how my attempt at making a Philly cheese steak for Anthony goes... Should be interesting!
